Widecombe-in-the-Moor sunday 10th April 2011

A perfect sunday - a lazy lunch at Rugglestone Inn ( as featured in the Good Pub Guide ) with friends and then a walk around Dartmoor, finishing off with a cream tea!

The walk was 3 1/2 miles long.  Walking towards Natsworthy along the road we spied some strange sheep??

Lots of people out on the rocks today.  and many many letterboxes on Bonehill Rocks.  to think we spent many years walking for miles to find maybe one box, and here within a short distance of a car park, there were over 10 on these rocks!

East Prawle Sunday 27th March 2011

This walk started at East Prawle, Near Kingsbridge.  We parked the car at the green and headed down the lane towards the coast.  suddenly we had a fantastic view of the coast. Walking down the hill, we followed the path on the cliff top between the rocks on one side and the sea on the other.

Then the path turned upwards and became very steep indeed!!

However, we enjoyed all the violets, the goats, the peacock butterfly and an endangered beetle!  Oh, and a pub lunch at the Pig's Nose!!

Mount Edgecombe via Cremyll Ferry Saturday 26th March 2011

We caught the 10 15 Cremyll ferry across to Mount Edgecombe and started our walk by turning right behind the pub, and walking around the headland. We found the walk delightful as we walked around the coast and came across some hidden coves and harbours.  Walking across a road and up through a wood, we arrived at Maker Church.  From here, the footpath took us to Kingsand where the sun was shining and the pub beckoned.  After a slow half ( hic) we continued our walk towards Mount Edgecombe park, where a host of golden daffodiles swayed in the breeze. The walk was 8 miles long.

Monday 28th February 2011

Dave and Rich returned to the UK having achieved their objective.  Both were bearded, tired, but proud of their achievement. Lots of money raised for the charities and many many photos to relive the experience.
