This walk was recommended to us by Di, so we thought we would try it. The village of Soriton is very small, but has a new village hall, church and a pub called the Tradesman's Arms. Parking at the village square we following a path out of the village climbing steeply for a couple of miles. eventually we found we were on the Two Moors Way. While we stopped for lunch, we were visited by a deer on the other side of the fence. on the other side were little pigglets!! The views across the fields were amazing, and the trek up the hill on the other side of the ford was good for the old heart muscles!!
Continuing on, we crossed Chalk Ford and up to the top of Pipers Hill. From here we skirted a wood and then followed a path down hill back to Soriton

Hello Deer, on Scornton Down |

Friendly encounter! |
We were surprised to see this deer. He stayed around for about 10 minutes and was not afraid of Bob. Bob was very curious and didn't bark at it. His hackles didn;t rise, so he was not frightened of it.

Much of this walk was on stoney paths, so not the most interesting of walks. however, we finished up at the pub for a drink , in their beer garden overlooking the valley in the sunshine, so alls well that ends well!!
