Talland Bay to Polperro - Sunday 20th February 2012

Again, apologies for being in Cornwall this weekend, but we decided to continue another piece of the South West Coastal Path and picked it up from Talland Bay ( see blog for 4th September 2011).

Just around the corner where we stopped last time, is Talland Bay proper.  The colours of the rocks are pink and blue.  From here, the path becomes quite steep and then levels off .  The path is well defined and half way to Polperro is a war memorial and a seat.  Polperro was very quiet and beautiful.  A cornish pasty for lunch and eaten on a bench overlooking the sea on a sunny day such as this, is my perfect sunday!

Here are a few photos of the walk:

If you are fit and can climb hills, these seats command a lovely view of the harbour!

  2. What a beautiful sunny day. I'd love to be sitting on one of those benches by the Cornish seaside. Did you visit the Shell House? Looks intriguing! Love, Vicki S.

  3. Hi, Took my son and his young family down to Talland to sample the delights we used to have there some 35 years ago. Very disappointed with the condition of the beach inasmuch that there now appears to be a stinking sewage outflow continually running out across this beach. June 2012.

To our horror there were young families building dams with the sand to create paddling pools for their children, they were having a great time.
It’s just a shame their parent didn’t ask themselves the question 'where’s that stench coming from?'.
Are there no laws to stop this kind of pollution?

    1. Hi C Baverstock, thank you for your comment. suggest you contact the water authority or surfers against sewage. you are right, it can't be healthy for anyone. it wasn't smelly when we did this walk, or I would have mentioned it.
